hpmc is the first in attempting to introduce reforms in fruit marketing, which system otherwise is full of exploitation and malpractices miscarried by commission agents. hpmc stands for the protection of the interests of the innocent growers as well as  customers. The emergence of hpmc in the field of fruit marketing has benefited immensely the fruit growers directly.

hpmc has bagged coveted International Asia Awards for 1983, 1984 and 1985. The Corporation also bagged International Food Award, 1985  and International America Award, 1986. These awards have been granted for hpmc’s distinguished role in the field of horticultural/agricultural produce marketing, processing, cold storing and export of fresh fruit and processed fruit products, apart from development and evolution of economy of small farmers in Himachal Pradesh which is now known as the “APPLE STATE OF INDIA”. The Corporation has won the First Prize for Apple Juice Concentrate at All India Apple Shows organized by Government of India in 1975 and 1981. It has also won the "UDYOG RATTAN AWARD", 1985 instituted by the Institute of Economic Studies , New Delhi . By wining 1988 “Marketing Man of the year Award” the hpmc once again established its supremacy in the field of fruit marketing and processing adding thereby more feathers to its cap by winning the "UDYOG RATTAN AWARD", 2000 and Industries Award for Operational Excellence for the year 2000.

hpmc has always been in the service of the fruit growers of the State of Himachal Pradesh and even in future, its endeavor will be to market and export as much of the fruits, vegetables and processed products as possible. Significant strides have already been made during the past 20 years and the organization is expected to grow tremendously in the years to come.
